The Israeli ability to hold two ideas in your head and not see the link between them is, honestly, breathtaking. Israelis hold this to be a truism: the Palestinians want all the land from the river to the sea, and their dearest and deepest **desire** is to sweep Israel away and replace it with an Islamic state. Israelis also hold this to be true: the Palestinians are **demanding** that the IDF withdraw behind the Green Line so they can declare a state in the 22% of the territory that remains to them. Israelis can hold those two points in their head, and STILL cry out: "But when - oh, when! - are the Pals going to compromise?" !!!!!!! Guys. Gals. You can't get from point (a) to point (b) without admitting that the Pals are accepting a compromise of monumental proportions i.e. they are giving up their *desire* for 100% in order to secure their *demand* for 22%. What *is* an acceptable compromise to an Israeli? That the Pals agree to crawl away under a rock?
