Unfortunately my responses from 2 days ago on the issue of "defensive shield" for Israel/Arabs in the region didn't make it through, so just quickly: Stephen: I'm glad to see you agreeing with me with regard to the uselessness of sanctions, however, military action wouldn't be any better at all, on the contrary. The International community should indeed work into the direction of at least a certain moderation of the Mullah regime, so in the future we will have more Khatamis as Iranian presidents, instead of Ahmadinejads. If that doesn't work, a defensive shield for Irans neighbours + Israel should indeed be taken into consideration.... Peter Williams: Until recently, the U.S. planned a protective "umbrella" for Eastern Europe, so I see absolutely no reason why this shouldn't also be possible for Israel and some of her Arab neighbours....
