First of all, the Iranian voted for a religious council, which is not an official part of the government. Second of all, the “moderate” top spot, Rafsanjani, the former Iranian president, was just indicted in Argentina for a direct involvement with blowing up the Buenos Aires Jewish center. A warrant has been issued for his arrest, so he is a fugitive terrorist at the head of a “moderate” list. There is no ideological difference between various fractions in the Iranian power structure. All are for nuclear weapons and for destruction of Israel. There is no dissent on those two points.
