I see why the continued building of settlements is a mixed message from the Arab perspective. But, what building do you refer to, new housing, repairs on current housing, roads, etc??? I also see the words versus action argument, from the Arab perspective. The fact that the Saudi FM is commenting on this subject is both words and an action in my opinion that is positive. From my perspective Israel leaving Gaza was a very BIG ACTION that has not resulted in words or actions from the Palestinians that have been useful. It can easily be argued that 'un-occupied' Palestinians would rather fight then build their own society. This is what the Gazan actions suggest. From my perspective. This level of diplomacy requires a long time and many, many small steps. I am currently reading Michael Oren's book on the Six Day War and I am amazed at how little has changed in the words of both sides. But, as I've posted many times, things are slowly but surely improving. Slowly.
