J Street is not causing a riff between Israel and Congress. Most members of Congress are better educated on the subject than you think. Just examine the voting patterns on issues concerning the Middle East. Israel has strong support from both parties, and from liberals, moderates and conservatives. Rep. Steny Hoyer (MD), now the number 2 Democrat in the House, has himself organized tours for freshmen members so they can see first hand Israel's security situation. On those trips, members see things that J Street overlooks.
