'I am ashamed that I saw injustice and never did anything about it,' Reinhold Hanning tells German courtroom.01:17 30.04.16 | 1 comments
One mustn't live in the area (which I frequently visited) to be interested in a conflict which has affected world peace so much. It has given birth to Islamistic extremism, local and global terrorism; it has caused enmity between the Western and the Islamic world; it induced American military interventions, it made Israel a military super-power with the world's 3rd biggest nuclear arsenal, etc., etc. No end in sight. The conflict must be resolved and Israel must get safe boundaries and peace soon, very soon, as a prerequisite for a prosperous future. In my post I expressed that I see no perspective for that to happen and that I do not understand why nobody seems to care. Jews need a safe haven and Israel continues to be the unsafest place they can find. I think any policy which is not aimed at peace for Israel is not acceptable.
