I don't agree with Michelle's "solution", I don't think it's as easy as telling east germany to follow west germany's lead, because the problems in one part of the country are caused by its joining the other. but it is also wrong to deny that east germany is facing a different kind of issue regarding neo-nazis than west germany is. the economic situation is generally worse in the east, most of those who can already left or are leaving for the west, and those who are left in the east face more social problems, which also lead kids to be easily impressed by extremist idelogies and the activities offered by groups supporting them - such as the npd and others.
