S: "In that case, there will never be peace." Israel needs to have the settlements ripped from her grip; she is unwilling to relinguish them voluntarily. It would be vastly more preferable that they be ripped from Olmert's grasp via arm-twisting from the Americans, because there is a chance that this can be done without bloodshed. But, I'm not hopeful that this will happen; the current President is hopeless, and all the likely contenders are rushing to fall into line to praise Israel and demonize "the terrorists". S: "Would Israel really prefer to keep the outposts and have never-ending war?" It would much prefer to have peace AND the settlements. It EXPECTS to - or at worst to only abandon a few token outposts - and that is why it just can't understand *why* the Pals can't see this. Because: (a) Israel wants this (b) Israel always gets what it wants Meanwhile, the Pals insist on seeing things from their own PoV, and not Israel's. The Bastards!
