I agree with much of what Perez said - about the Palestinians never missing a chance to miss an opportunity - but even this great politician cannot beautify the occupation. If Israel needed a presence in the West Bank for security reasons, it has a military that is trained to do the job; It had a military presence in Lebanon but never a civilian one. When the West went into Afghanistan or Iraq for supposedly security reasons involving their own countries they did not take hundreds of thousands of their own citizens with them to settle elsewhere, They took soldiers and built camps for them to live in. The obvious truth is that hundreds of thousands of ideologically-driven civilians have been able to take someone else's land simply because it suits their religious or nationalist belief system. Several hundred thousand people being given carte blanche by a superpower and its ally to keep pouring petrol onto the flames. It beggars belief!
