But I am uncertain what these demands - sensible and understandable tho they are - have to do with Israel settling 100,000s of its own citizens onto land that does not belong to it. Occupy the land, and keep occupying it until Israel has security guarantees? Yes, I can understand that. But settling that occupied land with your own people? Whoah! That's a different issue altogether. A very, very different issue indeed. Israel is NOT going to get any security guarantees UNTIL it says it is going to dismantle those settlements OR it offers an equavalent amount of land in exchange. But then, I guess, if it had that amount of land to spare then it wouldn't have needed to build those settlements were it did. The settlers are a noose around Israel's neck. They were a BAD idea in 1967, and an even worse idea now.
