Chris, there is another factor to consider. One reason why this is being released now could be that we now have Democrat-controlled oversight committees in the US Congress. For the first time under Bush, the US Congress is actually fulfilling it's oversight duty over the US intelligence agencies. The Congress is no longer a rubber-stamp for the Neocons. Expect to hear more balanced information coming from all agencies that are subject to Congressional oversight. It will still have a Republican slant on it, it will just be more balanced.
