Mohammed--fraid not. You got the chronology backwards. Sharon came *after* the outbreak of the intifada. The intifada is WHY he got elected in the first place: chornology--breakdown of Camp David, Sharon goes to Temple/Al Asqa Mount, intifada begins, Barak's public image plummets, *then* and only then Sharon is elected. I don't think Israel want's to go to war in any radical way against Palestinians. People are talking, considering, shrugging shoulders, getting angry--but this whole thing is up in the air. Are you exhausted from this thing? I know I am, and we don't even live there. Dollars to doughnuts, in a month's time (I think outside) somebody is goind to be talking to somebody who is talking to Hamas--and you can walk the dog back to Hamas playing "telephone" to Tel Aviv.
