Jonathan, Not to get tied up in semantics, but a "threat" is about something I intend to do; a "warning" is about somehting that will come to pass. When Abbas warns of violence, he is saying, "this is what will happen if we don't move toward peace." As I mentioned, he would be the first victim of such violence, so I don't think it is something he wants. You should not be so confident that Israel will hold out in a state of interminable conflict. In any event, what kind of life would that be? If there's no other option, that's one thing; but there is another option -- or at least there may be -- and to not pursue it 100% is worst than short-sighted, it's criminal.
