Declarations of War have no purpose any more, which is why you don't see them EXCEPT as statments for propaganda purposes. The concept of a "State of War" does not exist anymore either, except in the eyes of an ignorant like yourself. It's very simple, David, in the post-WW2 world there is either an "armed conflict" going on, or there isn't. Those 1949 Armistace's ended that "armed conflict", and that meant the 1948-49 war ENDED, and the claim that the lack of a peace treaty meant there continued to be a "state of war" after 1949 is rubbish. Your claims are a hangover from 19th century intl law that has no place in the modern world. Consider this; Britain went BANG on Egypt in 1956, and ended that BANGing with a ceasefire. So is there still a "state of war" between them?
