You write "how does he know with such certainty that Ahmadinejad does not share the genocidal ambitions of a Hitler?" The answer is: he doesn't. So you have to balance all the factors. The information you have + the probabilities of certain outcomes + the costs of each outcome. If you look only at one man (e.g. ahmedinajad) than the math is good. kill him. But if you start looking at the next day, the math changes. The primary factor improperly viewed by people like you is the relative value of certain lives. Before you walk into a room where children are going to be killed, you keep asking second opinions until it is time. Israel is not doing that.
