Gaza mortar shells target Israeli forces searching for Hamas tunnels; Israel responds with airstrike, tank fire and declares border area a closed military zone; Hamas evacuates two schools as a precautionary measure.21:44 04.05.16 | 4 comments
Israel decided it didn't want to get Shalit back and is in the final planning for the next invasion. The script has been written, years ago and is being followed to a tee. This is just like November 2008. Neither Hamas nor the Israeli gov dives one whit about what collateral damage happens. Both seem to want to maximize it while crying, "look what you made me do." If and when the rockets stop, Israel will look for another way to get them started up again. It's a pathology that has been repeatedly evidenced itself. Gaza can never be free or peaceful or out of Israeli control. No Israeli or Hamas politician can ever allow that. That is the source of electoral power for both.
