My daughter, in Israel on a Reform movement program from the U.S., was caught up in the war. Her job on the kibbutz was working in the refit (cow barn). she was supposed to go to school half days. When the war started all the men left and she was put in charge milking 3 times a day and all the work involved with milking, cleaning and caring for the animals. We were so proud of her. She stayed on kibbutz for the rest of the year and went on to make aliya as we did as well.
