CJK: "nor would any boycott work. israel has extensive commercial and military relations with many countries outside of europe." If they are member states of the UN then they are bound by Art 25 to accept any "decision" of the UNSC to boycott Israel. ALL. OF. THEM. And, of course, no amount of "commercial activity" will help Israel if the USA refuses to guarantee Israeli loans, because NOBODY will lend money to Israel without those guarantees. And Israel needs those loans to stay afloat, because it doesn't have much in the way of foreign reserves. Commerce between Israel and the rest of the world would therefore cease because (so sorry, Cippie) without those loan guarantees Israel will be exposed as a banana republic. Because those loans are what keeps Israel's economy afloat.
