Bill, you predicate a forthcoming preemptive strike, either by Israel or the US, or both, on the basis of US public support. Such support, then, would itself be the basis of the next and final World War. Read Mark Lincoln's clear presentation of how World War II started, on this theme, # 129. The crux of the problem is a pathologic "neocon" type of security fixation in Israel, which disregards its own bellicose provocations by land grabbing and abuse of their neighbors all around: the last Lebanon war was a classic example, and the Israeli handling of their conflict with the Palestinians, punishing the entire nation for the acts of radicals whom Israel itself was largely guilty of inciting in a cycle of vendetta. The Saudi Plan is Israel's last chance for peace and survival. Belligerency will not bring peace, but WWIII, on account of American support of Israel.
