I'm here to tell you, EL, that there are many gentile Christians like me who don't give a rat's patootie what the world says about Israel. We stand by Israel no matter how much anyone else hates her -- and in fact love Israel more than many Jews do! Through the Bible, God says that the world will turn against Israel, but that He will not allow His Jewish people to be driven out of their land again (for example, Ezekiel 39:25-29). We believe God, not the "world." We believe that the Jewish people have every right to live there in peace and safety, and that the 20% percent or so of the Israeli population that is Arab is far better off than their Arab brothers and sisters in neighboring countries. And we believe that the Messiah, Jesus (Y'shua), will return to Jerusalem, and His Jewish people will recognize Him -- as God said in Zechariah 12:10, "they will look upon Me whom they have pierced." Because we love Him, we love Israel!

This Valentine's day, celebrate not love, but the sublime bond of friendship

Friendship is free of the indignities, suffering and drama that characterize romantic love; it doesn't have an expiration date; we rarely suspect it to be a figment of our imagination. But love is what fuels our economy.
