The Arab Jihadist and Ottoman Empires never built universities here. The first built was Beir Zeit, under the British Empire. Then, from 1948 until 1967, not one was built by the Jordanian or Egyptian conquerors. It wasn't until after 1967 that they got more universities, thanks to Israel's help and money. They didn't build the universities with Palestinian money, but with non-Arab, non-Muslim money. They, do, however, run them with the little money they get from the PA. However, to whine that they think it's important to keep universities open while they're short of money makes no sense. That they think education matters is a good point, and there aren't many on that side of the war. Be thankful, not thick-headed.
