Who really cares what the conditions are, when there is a war raging within and without. Let them eat what's good for the rest of the soldiers, and live the way the others live. This is 'supposedly' your country, too. You want others to fight and serve, while your darlings daven. Maybe those charedim who refuse to serve, should move to New York and there they can live without worrying about the other poor kids, who are forced serve their time for their country. Your laws are ancient and just forget that this is 2007, and we eat, live and fight differently. In case you didn't know, there was a serious war in the North. Did you ever read about it or cared?
