You have missed a few points. Barak refused to allow UN monitors at the start of the Intifada. Sharon would not deal with Arafat, calling him a murderer, while Israeli guns were being turned on rock-throwers, instead of using teargas/water cannon. Sharon's visit caused a great deal of resentment, and was one of the triggers for the Intifada. We have seen tv shots of Israeli acivity which would be ragarded as outrageous by any standards: a tank firing a shell after two fleeing boys, Israeli soldiers telling a BBC team to leave an old woman in a wheelchair amongst the rubble of her home, and we read of the killings of clearly identifiable children by IDF. Nearly 700 Palestinian children killed, but no sign of regret, no proper inquiries, no change of policy by Israeli governments, in spite of the US holding an inquiry into civilian massacre. Execution without trial, collective punishment as used by Germany in France,Greece, and the Balkans in the last war.
