What purpose would it serve to see Peretz resign as he's part of this coalition which has strongly advocating the political peace path for Kadima? Isn't the Minister of Defense more of a political position than defense military position? Amir Peretz said in Yossi Verter's article "Waiting in the wings": re: challenging journalists, " What mistaken decision did he make? Did they really expect that after two months in office he would be intimately familiar with the condition of the emergency war supplies, the problems of the IDF that were revealed in all their severity during the war?" I know Peretz has a reputation in Israel, but I'm not clear as to why he can't be different from the norm...we've got the same political landscape of unresolved conflict with our adversaries. Peretz is supported by Sephardis who have also voted Shas. So what does that tell you...Olmert needs this fellow. No Minister of Defense has acted always intuned with what we've expected.
