Shalom Freedman-- It is thoroughly hypocritical to ask the Palestinians to recognize the rights of Israel when Israel doesn't recognize the rights of the Palestinian people. So until Israel gets out of Palestinian peoples daily life and removes all the settlements and respects their right to exist --I think it is foolish to ask the Palestinian leadership to disarm the militiants. The Palestinians have a right to resist a foreign occupier and the rest of the world is with them on this. That's why Israel is losing hearts and minds every day while the Palestinians are winning them! Please get real--it is so simple and everydayish. I feel foolish repeating it to Israelis who should know better. So I will let Desmond Tutu remind you: "Israelis they have a unique responsibility to others in light of their own tragic history and not do unto others as others have done unto them: "Have our Jewish sisters and brothers forgotten their humiliation? Have they forgotten the collective punishment, the home demolition`s, in their own history so soon? Have they forgotten that God cares deeply about the down trodden?" In 1948 the world was with Israel--today the world is with the Palestinian people . And Israel should recognize what goes around --comes around. Get out of the Palestinian lives and let them have their state!!! Dutch
