Calling someone else a retard in one of your posts. Sheesh. I understand the decision to go to war was Bush's. Do you understand that Israelis enthusiastically suported that decision, more so than any other country in the world? There are a dismaying number of Jewish neocons who played significant roles in this fiasco, but they never represented the Jewish community in any way, and Jewish voters can take pride in having voted strongly anti-Bush twice. If any religious group can be given the lion's share of blame for the Iraq war, it would have to be Christian fundamentalists. Both the US and Israel guessed wrong and erred on the side of bloody war, it's turned into a major humanitarian catastrophe and it's hardly unfair that they've been weakened by their poor judgement. Maybe it will help Israelis realize that the permanent war advocated by the settlers is a very risky business. Same lesson as to be gleaned from Lebanon War II.
