The Israeli Government did not "steal" from a reparations fund. The fund, of 3 billion marks, was intended to both compensate a struggling new Israel for absorbing 1/2 million refugees of Nazi Europe and to compensate those refugees for material damages. The State of Israel, which at the time was pretty much impoverished and hit with 1000's of refugees pouring in each month, used the money for what was then required: Absorption and building. Our nation is now an economic sucess story, but many survivors are not. Anger at our government is justified - rage at Olmert's measly 83 NIS offer is justified. But fraud? Theft? Corruption that should bring the world's gavel of judgement even harder upon Israel? No. You are simply wrong in this. Sorry.
