6. "Since according to you anti semitism was caused by "Jewish superiority and seperatism" do you then say that your own familly brought it on their heads?? It would seem to be the logical conclusion" - Danite Quoting from my previous post in the sequence: A. "PART of the reason for anti-semitism is Jewish separatism and sense of superiority." - Tosefta "Part" of the reason means ONLY PART of the reason. This will make the statement that the mentioned reasons "caused" anti-semitism incorrect. What "part" did these reasons play, a half? A third? It wasn`t stated and no conclusions about the size should be drawn. B. "anti-semitism is not necessarily acquired rationally, but people get it from suckling at their mothers` breasts. And anti-Semitism is responsible for the Holocaust." - Tosefta It was indicated in my post that anti-semitism started in antiquity but was passed down the generations. It was also indicated (elsewhere) that the two causes which generated PART of anti-semitism, continued to be practiced by the Jews. Were the Jews of this age responsible for anti-semitism? Only if you know the full reasons for anti-semitism would you be able to answer this. But the full reasons are a matter of speculation and controversy. To conclude, my family did practice separatism and had a sense of superiority over the gentiles. In fact, my generation has it too. We received it from our parents who received it from theirs. I imagine this reduces the guilt of later generations as compared to the earlier ones. But some residual guilt survives. HOWEVER, once you learn a lesson, as the Holocaust taught us and not our parents, we become more guilty if we don?t change our ways.
