Dr. Brnd, Israel's unilateral exit from Gaza was not the best choice in the end, and what we learned was to negotiate with the Palestinians from that experience. The Palestinians don't have much in return to give us. I could be wrong but I believe the settlement activity and non-commital of areas of withdrawal by Israel, correlates to the terrorist activities by the Hamas and factions. Terrorism defeats their cause as well as not renouncing violence. Your logic is the classic question, what are we to get in return for concessions? Well, a peaceful settlement, 2 states side-by-side, and much more. It is problematic that President Abbas has zero clout in Gaza, as a result partly of the unilateral withdrawal. So it seems to go in circles.
