from the Palestinians.Only the first purchases in the early 20th century were land purchased from absentee landlords by the Jewish Agency. The Ottoman Turks were in power then. The Palestinian farmers were evicted & became landless labourers.Since then it has been force& fraud. The Partition Line of Res.181 gave 33% minority jews 56 % land. The Arabs rejected this because it was unjust & it violated their right to self determination guaranteed by the League of Nations which betrayed them an opted for the british Mandate which ended in Partition. After the 1948 war israel grabbed another 22 % and this became the armistice arrangement between israel, egypt, lebanon, syria. It was intended to be temporary, not final borders.I happen to think that israel has no legal or moral 'right' to exist.it has only a de facto existence, meaning it is there.Hamas recognises that de facto existence and has offered a 10 year hudna. It is the best deal israel can now get.ofcourse they won't accept the measly 22%.
