You make a number false assumptions: 1. If you are Jewish, which by the way Americans see as a religious affiliation, you should unquestioningly support the State of Israel created on May 14, 1948. In reality Americans vote on what they perceive to be best for America, not on what some might think best for any foreign state interest. 2. President Obama has a ?questionable commitment to Israel.? In reality our President holds no animus toward the State of Israel. 3. There is a Jewish vote in America. In reality, Americans no matter what their religious affiliation is, are Americans. They vote as Americans. Jews have lived in America since it?s inception. Americans of Jewish faith were important supporters of the American Revolution. Americans of Jewish faith see themselves as Americans and identify their best interest with that which is perceived to be in the American best national interest. Yes along the way there has discrimination against various minorities an America, including discrimination directed at Americans of the Jewish faith. However the faith based Jewish minority has strived in America. Americans of Jewish faith are generally well educated and productive members of American society. Their level of education and political and social maturity has traditionally led them to support a progressive political orientation. President Obama is a progressive American, who in practice seeks to find moderate solutions to the many serious challenges facing America in the 21st Century.
