    1) Bibi has not issued any new tenders for settlement building & he has agreed to a tempory freeze on all settlement building in Judea & Samaria. 2) Gilo is not a settlement its a suburb of Jerusalem and even if you want to define it as a settlement its not new, it was founded in the mid 70s. It has a population of 30,000. There is no palestinian land being appropriated for this building. Another of Bibis promises was he would not take any new land for settlements from arabs. This is about building extra homes in an existing naighborhood. 3) It has nothing to do with security & nobody in Israel is pretending it does only Obama is mentioning security in the same breath as settelements. 4) What peacemaking gestures has Abbas made? He is talking about unilateral decleration of statehood He is talking about Fatah returning to armed resistance He is refusing to even talk with Bibi unless he stops building in Jerusalem which he knows he can't do even if he wanted.
