Unfortunately for Israel, the US and China are competing worldwide for the same thing: energy in the form of OIL, natural gas, coal and all the other needed coomodities, from copper to tin to iron to etc. China does not really care about a nuclear Iran, it propably secretely supports it for it will weaken American power and might in the ME. If there is one country in the ME for which China would want to be the strong protector and ally number one instead of the US it is Saudi-Arabia, which is sitting on the big prize to win, the Saudi OIl fields. Iran with it's OIL and espescially enormous reserves of natural gas is more important too for the Chinese than Israel. The truth is that Israel is not really needed but unfortunately they do not know it. They prefer macho behavior and wishfull thinking away from reality, just like you do.
