Palestinians all became Jews after the fall of Canaan. Of COURSE they did not wear black coats and hats. Those are 18th c. European. You are confusing European Jewish culture with indigenous Jewish culture. They also did not segregate gender. About 16% of Ashkeanazim have the ancient Jewish haplotype, most of the rest went up from Turkey and Armeinia. Because 34% of Palestinians and 59% of Negev Bedouins have the ancient J1 haplotype, and 76% of the Yemeni have it, it became obvious to geneticists that many of the ancient Jews REMAINED in Palestine. Thjose who fled went East, not north. Sadly, both Israel and Yamen are in the business of persecuting the children of the patriarchs. BTW-- A lot of goyim ALSO have the J1 hapltype. Like me. My Ashkenazi husband does not have it.
