I have very little sympathy for these settlers and the fact that they have left it to absolute last minute I think means they deserve what they get in the coming few weeks. That said, there is in no way shape or form a comparison between the vast majority of settlers - at least 2/3 - and the Palestinian terror groups. Settlers are not blowing up Israeli children, settlers are not blowing up Israeli cafes and discos and so far one settler - the recent shooting in Safaram - has killed Israeli citizens. As such there is no reason why the Israeli army should act violently as a first step - this of course would change if there is violence tomorrow or after. Whether a Palestinian army should act with such forebearance is another question....
