The incoming president of the Union for Reform Judaism speaks to Haaretz about his visions for the future of the organization and about Obama's ties with the Jewish state.
The incoming president of the Union for Reform Judaism expressed his support for U.S. President Barack Obama, Friday, affirming that the current administration has shown the most military support for Israel than any other in U.S. history.
Rebutting accusations that Obama's address was a campaign speech, Rabbi Richard Jacobs said the president "set the record straight" and ""simply [spoke] the truth."
Jacobs, who was announced the incoming president of the Union of Reform Judaism at the biennial this week, spoke to Haaretz about his visions and plans for the future.
