Veteran Labor MK Ben-Eliezer hospitalized with lung infection
Former Defense Minister is connected to a respirator at Assaf Harofeh Hospital.
The health of Labor MK Benjamin Ben Eliezer has deteriorated, leading doctors at Assaf Harofeh Hospital, where he is currently interned, to anaesthetize the former Defense Minister and connect him to a respirator.
The hospital reported that Ben-Eliezer's clinical condition has continued to remain stable. He was taken to the Assaf Harofeh Hospital last Tuesday and brought to the intensive care unit with a high fever and a lung infection, apparently due to complications from the flu.
The hospital ruled out the possibility that he is suffering from swine flu.
Assaf Harofeh has refused to release details about Ben Eliezer's medical condition in the last several days, although they had said that he has made moderate improvements. The hospital emphasized that he will remain in intensive care for the time being, for security reasons.
