Celtic beats Motherwell 2-0 to reclaim lead in Scotland

Celtic reclaimed the top spot in the Scottish Premier League yesterday after beating Motherwell 2-0 on two goals in a four-minute span. Motherwell started the day two points ahead of the reigning champions but was soundly beaten at Fir Park thanks to Gary Hooper's 32nd-minute opener and Adam Cummins' own goal in the 35th. Scott Brown missed a penalty for Celtic in the 56th following a foul on Kris Commons by Cummins, who received a red card for the challenge on a miserable afternoon for the defender. After a poor start, Celtic has a one-point lead with a game in hand over its nearest challengers. (AP )
