Shot tour guide back home, but still can't recall attack
The tour guide found shot in the head in the Golan Heights four months ago was released from the Loewenstein Hospital Rehabilitation Center yesterday, his family said.
However, Nir Gur, 60, said he had no recollection of the how he was wounded.
"I don't remember anything from the event," he said. "It's something that preoccupies me very much, but I haven't been able to find anyone who could contribute any new information." Police have imposed a strict gag order on the details of the investigation.
Gur left his car in Carmiel before going missing for two days. He was found near Mitzpe Gadot in October, naked, beaten and unconscious, with a bullet wound to the head. He was hospitalized in Rambam Medical Center in Haifa and was eventually transferred to Loewenstein for rehabilitation.
"I feel fine now," Gur told Haaretz, "but there are still some areas in which I need to improve - like eyesight problems and the memory gaps."
