Anat Bodasher nabs Yashar Prize for architecture

Anat Bodasher has won the Yitzhak Yashar Prize for the best final project in architecture at Tel Aviv University. Her 2012 project "Empty Expanse" addresses the problems of abandoned buildings and temporary construction. It also proposes a plan to integrate commercial space, residential housing, a community center and open plazas. This is the first time the prize has been awarded. Mulika Nir shines in French fashion award

Jewelry designer Mulika Nir is one of 10 winners of a competition for young fashion and accessory designers sponsored by the French fashion magazine Who's Next. Nir, 26, graduated last year from the jewelry design program at the Shenkar College of Engineering and Design. The winners will display their first collection at a show sponsored by the magazine, to take place in Paris from January 19 to 22. The contest was cosponsored by the fashion and design websites WGSN and Arts Thread. Nir's entry was inspired by the circus and memories of her childhood, expressed through a variety of materials including brass, paper, leather and paint. (Hila Ohayon )
