When Sacramento Kings head coach Paul Westphal told Israeli basketball phenom Omri Casspi that he was tapped to start for the first time in his career Wednesday night, the rookie from Yavneh did not disappoint.

Casspi set a career high in points (22) while recording five rebounds in Sacramento's 112-109 home victory against the Washington Wizards.

It was Casspi's critical three-pointer late in the third quarter that tied the score at 76, setting off a delirious home crowd. The young forward knows that every performance is scrutinized in his homeland.

"Every game is live in Israel so for me every game is important, that's why I was not nervous before the game," Casspi said.

He said "you dream about things like that" - to be in the starting lineup for the first time in your career.
