Modi'in teens suspected of vandalizing synagogues, kindergartens
Police believe suspects broke into homes while owners were praying in local synagogue.
Ten teens from Modi'in were detained on suspicion of breaking and entering into synagogues, kindergartens, homes and vehicles in the city and stealing money from them, police said Monday.
The boys, aged 14 and 15, are also suspected of vandalizing the places they broke into. One of them said he was forced to steal because his parents didn't give him money.
The main suspect said he stole to impress his friends. The investigation began some two months ago after the burglary of charity boxes in three kindergartens.
Police believe the boys broke into homes while their owners were praying in the synagogue and stole food, pens and small change.
