Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni avoided relating directly to Morris Talansky's testimony in court earlier this week, or to Defense Minister Ehud Barak's call yesterday for Prime Minister Ehud Olmert to step down.

Nevertheless, she made herself clear in a speech during the annual memorial service for pre-state Etzel underground commander David Raziel. Livni said, "The state has a vision and values which obligate its citizens and also its leaders."

She added that "before we can be a light unto the nations, it is appropriate that we act within our own house to show the light."

According to Livni, there is a need to act according to the same values that guided the leadership of the state to be.
