Haaretz released Tuesday its latest smartphone apps, now available for both iPhone and Android, to provide users with an improved version based on the comments and suggestions of our readers.

The apps are especially designed to give readers instant access to breaking news from Israel, the Middle East and the Jewish world, as well as with the newspaper’s renowned and influential opinion pieces and analyses. Shabbat and Jewish holiday times around the world are available on our apps as well, as are Israel weather forecasts.

Some of our new features include:

-Easier registration (the apps are free to download, but require registration which is also free. If you are already registered, just log in using your existing account)

-Faster, more responsive features

- On iPhones only: Push notifications with latest breaking news. A similar feature will be added to the Android app soon.

- Improved Twitter-sharing feature

- News flashes update while refreshing the app

- Privacy policy included
