Clashes erupt when security forces arrive at Havat Gilad outpost to demolish several illegal structures; settlers report 13 lightly wounded from rubber bullets.
Eight settlers were arrested Monday during violent clashes with security forces in the Havat Gilad outpost in the West Bank, and settlers reported that 13 people were lightly wounded, according to Channel 10.
Security forces arrived at the Havat Gilad outpost in the settlement of Samaria on Monday morning in order to demolish several illegal structures, which resulted in clashes between police and the settlers.
According to settlers, security forces shot rubber bullets at the outpost residents, and due to the violent clashes eight people were consequently arrested.
MK Michael Ben-Ari (National Union) who was at the scene, said "only the Likud party could shoot rubber bullets at people, continue fighting Jews and destroy their homes."
The Havat Gilad outpost is home to several dozen settlers. IDF forces have evacuated the outpost twice before, and is the site of several violent clashes between security forces and settlers.
