Bud’s Boys Modi’in had two opportunities this week to avenge earlier
losses to the league-leading Tel Aviv Comrades, but was shut down by
dominant Tel Aviv pitching both times.

On Sunday evening, Orr Gottlieb held Modi’in to three hits while hurling a 5-0 shutout. Sam Seelenfreund went seven innings on the mound for Bud’s Boys.
In a rematch two days later, Modi’in fell short again, losing to Tel Aviv by a score of 6-2. The Comrades jumped ahead in the top of the first, tagging Modi’in starter Zach Schneider for three runs.

First baseman Asaf Rothem and outfielder Yuli Tsypin led Tel Aviv’s
offense, each responsible for a pair of RBIs while collecting
extra-base hits.

Dan Rothem pitched three strong innings for Tel Aviv, allowing no base
runners and striking out four, followed by three innings by Tal Erel,
who then gave way to Herbie Epstein to close down the seven-inning
contest.
