An estimated 2.1 million people watched the premiere of FX's new drama "Tyrant," the new Middle East-based political family series by the creators of "Homeland," among them Israeli Gideon Raff.

The first episode will be broadcast in Israel on Saturday Yes-Oh.

It is a fair result for a cable channel, according to Hollywood website Deadline. In comparison, "Fargo" did 20% better in its April 15 premier. However, notes the website, "Fargo" featured Billy Bob Thornton and the names of filmmakers Joel and Ethan Coen were tied to the production, while in the case of "Tyrant" all the actors are mostly anonymous, at least to the American crowd – Moran Atias is very well known in Israel.

The reviews for the series opener were mainly negative. The weighted score it received on the Metacritic website was 54.
