Red Sox down Cardinals to clinch World Series
This is the first time the Boston team has won at home since 1918.
The Boston Red Sox won their third World Series title in 10 Major League Baseball seasons with a 6-1 victory over the St. Louis Cardinals on Wednesday.
With the win, the Red Sox completed a 4-2 series win over the Cardinals in the best-of-seven championship and clinched the World Series at home for the first time since 1918.
According to MLB, Boston's David Ortiz was named Most Valuable Player.
