South Tel Aviv building collapses, killing one and injuring four
The victims, residents of Taibeh, were renovating the building when a ceiling collapsed.
One person died and four were lightly injured after a building partially collapsed on the corner of Herzl and Wolfson streets in south Tel Aviv.
The victims are all residents of the Israeli Arab village of Taibeh, who were working on the building's renovation when a ceiling collapsed into a shaft. Police, municipal workers and rescue services arrived on the scene.
Magen David Adom paramedics evacuated all casualties to Ichilov and Wolfson hospitals. One man who had been critically injured died of his wounds in hospital.
Last March, an external wall of a three-story building collapsed on a nearby street, but there were no injuries.
