Israeli junior golfer shoots hole in one at Gaash Monthly Medal
Tomer Koren, 18, nailed the shot; his teammate Anthony Harris had the best gross score of the day with 74 shots.
A hole in one on the 305-meter, par-4 hole at the Gaash Golf Club is a moment that will be enjoyed and remembered for many years by Tomer Koren, who represented Israel on the junior team in the just-ended Maccabiah. It was the first time anyone ever shot a hole in one on the 10th hole.
Koren, 18, nailed the shot using his driver. The junior team won the gold medal at the Maccabi games. Koren, who will be starting his army service in October, was playing with Anthony Harris and Michael Cohen in the July monthly medal. Harris had the best gross score of the day with 74 shots.
Nearly 50 golfers played in very warm conditions.
In the A division, Raphy Harroche, Amos Aharoni and Eddy Hoffman were on net 73. Harroche took first place with Aharoni in second place on the count back.
Moshe Nessis won the B division with a net 69 followed by Gon Hertzog on 72. In the C division, Meyer Iny earned first place with a net 72 followed by Roz Brodie.
Nearest to the pin prizes went to Iny and Shmulik Almagor.
